Design & Build Quality
The Elite Floodlight WiFi is not small. Once mounted, it’s clearly visible. That’s not necessarily a bad thing — visible cameras deter crime.
Build quality feels solid, and it’s clearly designed for outdoor use. Installation requires wired power, so this is not a battery-powered solution.
If you want discreet, look elsewhere. If you want visible deterrence, this fits.
4K Dual-Lens Wide-Angle Coverage
The biggest advantage of this camera is the panoramic resolution: 5120×1552 pixels using H.265 encoding.
It uses a dual-lens design that stitches both images together. When properly calibrated, the image looks natural without noticeable distortion.
One camera covers almost the entire backyard. No blind spots. No second camera required.
Fluent mode (1920×576 using H.264) is available for lower bandwidth situations.
Recording is capped at 20fps — which is sufficient for security monitoring.
Storage Options (No Mandatory Subscription)
You can store footage:
- On a microSD card inside the camera
- On a NAS via FTP
- On a Reolink Hub (optional, not required)
There’s no forced subscription model here, which is a major advantage compared to some competitors.
App Experience
The Reolink app is powerful — maybe even too powerful.
You can:
- Watch live footage
- Review recordings
- Configure AI detection
- Set motion zones
- Control floodlight brightness & schedules
The AI filters make searching for “person” events easy. However, the interface can feel busy and some settings are hidden in deeper menus.
It works reliably — but it could be cleaner.
Home Assistant Integration
Yes, it works.
But it’s not plug-and-play.
To enable RTSP and ONVIF, you need the Windows desktop app — not the mobile app.
Once configured, you can:
- View streams in Home Assistant
- Use motion events in automations
- Control the floodlight
You do not need the Reolink Hub for Home Assistant integration.
Daytime Performance
Daytime video quality is sharp, detailed, and consistent. Colors look natural and the wide-angle view keeps everything in frame.
It’s not flashy — it’s reliable.
And that’s what matters.
Night Performance & Floodlight
Infrared works well.
The floodlight is powerful — sometimes very powerful.
You can adjust brightness and color temperature. When active, you get full-color night footage.
AI detection performs well but can trigger false alerts in heavy rain. Sensitivity tuning is recommended.
